My friend shared this with me and told me that this quote reminded her of myself. As I was reading I laughed because a lot of it is me, I love pink, I love to laugh, not going to lie I love kissing boys from time to time and then I got to the latter part of the quote. “I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.” I actually stopped reading the quote and read over that line several times before moving on. That is a powerful message Audrey Hepburn is giving us. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of how strong we can be and that we are able to move on from any situation and be become better off than we were before.
Considering today is the first day of Lent, the next 40 days can be used (even if you are not Christian or do not have a faith ) as a reflection period. A time we can not only challenege ourselves but explore aspects about ourselves we might not have had the courage to before. We can change whenever we want to, so why not start now?!?Although, Audrey Hepburn is no Ghandi her words of wisdom are uncanny to us girls looking for something more.
Ever since The Avett Brothers performed on the Grammy’s this year they have been blowing up. I will admit that I have also become slightly obsessed with this band due to both their honest and genuine lyrics and their original sound. I am not exactly sure why but at times I get a Johnny Cash feeling while listening to them, which in my opinion is awesome!. This has become one of my favorite songs of this band of late. The lyrics are so true and I can only imagine that most people hope for what this songs talks about. Enjoy!
I want to go for a bike ride and let the wind fly across my face
allowing all my worries and insecurties fly away.
I want to look to the right of me and look to my left to see my friends laughing as we ride into the sun
I want to remember all the good times and be able to embrace the bad
And, at the end of the day I want to smile because of everything I have done
and not cry because of everything have not.
